Restaurants
Portland and its surrounding areas have a great selection of restaurants, spanning a variety of cuisines and cultures. Here are some of our favorites. You may notice a theme :)
- Syun Izakaya: Japanese restaurant. One of the best Japanese restaurants in the area, if not the best.
Address: 209 NE Lincoln St, Hillsboro, OR.
- Sushi Boat: conveyor belt sushi. The sushi floats around on small boats and surfboards.
Address: 14800 SW Murray Scholls #101, Beaverton, OR.
- Buffet Palace: as far as we're concerned, it's the best Asian buffet in the West side of town. Period.
Address: 12570 SW Center St, Beaverton, OR.
- Newport Bay: it's a chain restaurant, but they serve decent seafood and it's not too expensive.
Address: 2865 NW Town Center Dr, Beaverton, OR.

Cool places near Portland
|
Multnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. It tends to be very popular and touristy, but the trip is worth it. It's only about 20 miles away from Portland. The whole Columbia gorge area is very beautiful, with lots of great nature spots and hiking trails.

The Oregon Coast
One of the great things about living in Portland is that there are so many choices for things to do without having to drive very far. If you feel like driving to the mountains, they're about an hour away. Likewise, you can get to the Oregon coast in about an hour and a half for the closest towns. There's plenty to see and do at the coast: going to the fun arcades and candy shops at Seaside, enjoying the great seafood at many of the coast restaurants, seeing the aquarium at Newport, visiting the Tillamook cheese factory at Tillamook...
